Sockless - Zack
It’s that time of year to go sockless
shirtless, pantless, shoeless, gloveless
yooooo the sun’s out, brother!
haaaaave some fun now, because
It’s the time of year when it’s shinin
cool breeze, slick trees, roof down, smilin
y’all know when that time roolls around
it kinda sucks, ‘cause you spend the whole day mowin
It’s that time of year to go sockless
shirtless, pantless, shoeless, gloveless
It’s that time of year to go careless
reckless, shirtless, shoeless, chairless
everyone goooo!!
sockless sockless sockless

Can I Call You That

Can I call you that - Adam
22 Hours on a Boston st.
deleting redmarks from a cell phone screen
you and your brother were oh so sweet
speak of costumes and blistered feet
chorus
What are you, my friend?
Can I call you that?
What are you, my friend?
shoulder back scratch and a pilot pen
a lonely sliver of a book report
is all I gave you for being such a good sport
dancing was the warmest stand
I never kissed you but I held your hand
chorus
after the party I forgot your name
another hipster just living off fame

Busking with Butterflies — Bartley
What’s the purpose of this popoise
why’s he waliing on the whale
on the surface, swims a tortoise
I think he’d be good with kale
in the kitchen, butter flies
butterflies are on the lawn
slippery people flutter by
the shutter stutters dusk till dawn
and on and on…
busking sometimes, eating homefries
when I find the time alone
eating stones and cigarette
butts when the money isn’t home
avalanches crushing ranches
making sandwiches from bone
escapades are just charades
when the boulders start to roll
down and down and…

In the Aeroplane Under the Sea - Zach DW
I have found in this place it’s got plenty of cases and all of them filled with disease
Deepdown under the ground I hear horrible sounds
and they come from a labratory
I have gone and round mutants and monsters and minotaur writing as far as the eye can see
woe is me! How will I escape from this disease tell me please
In this darkened black room there is infinite gloom
what a ghrrible place to be
these terrible times were created with rhymes in this
awful shit hole far from humanity
Woe is me! How will I escape from this disease tell me please
All terror and doom fill this nasty-ass room wll beyond any hope of safety
If only someone would come discover this place,
even if it’s just to kill mee, quickly, with any merderous method that they please.

Extra-Ordinary

Extra-Ordinary
So like this one time
I saw walking down the street and this
homeless man walks up to me and says “what is ordinary?”
———
And it got me thinking, this guy has nowhere to go. If I had nowhere to call ‘home’ I would go crazy.
If I had nothing to do all day except beg for change and bum smokes off people, I would treasure any interaction with someone that would be out of the ordinary.
——
And maybe he was trying to teach me something. Something along the lines of ‘if everything is ordinary’, what makes something extraordinary’
——
Everyday, you walk by, run by, or drive by so many things you pass off as ordinary but when you take the time to examine something, you will realize they are extra-ordinary.

The Finer things - Bartley
Wake up when the doorbell rings
Live a life besieged by the finer things
It ain’t easy but you do your best
to handle all the excess
drop like a fly when the speaker sings
drip like a drop of fountain ink
stop like a clock when the realization
sinks, that this is really everything
and everything rad, when you’re
riding on a fad
hanging from a flaming dumptruck
screaming at your dad
But everything is dull when the firemen
show up
and you have to walk all across town
to buy a new dump truck
pass out when the liquor kicks,
and ends your daily hissy fits
it’s a drag, to still exist, and a
drag to be so rich
