A D
Two lenses are enough for this one
A D
all feathers proud atop his head
swivel magic is the four A M mantra
for the television zombie in my bed
A Em
chef tony’s selling miracles to tweens
F G A
I’ll burn the page outta his book
pornography shots stuffed between
the test-proven Permit-Driver’s handbook
solo break
the dogs were the worst to imagine
when pixelated horrors were in vogue
twitch at the slightest provocation
in poker this is where you’d fold
A Em
chef tony’s selling miracles to tweens
F G A
I’ll burn the page outta his book
pornography shots stuffed between
the test-proven Permit-Driver’s handbook

Am Em
Salt in the shower makes those cheerios turn soggy.
Drunk drive on power when the receiver goes faulty.
F
Burn my skin
Em
scratch off your name
F
let me in
Em
to myself
new home is needed for the brightest red eyes
two hearts depleted by an unrelenting guise
F
Burn my skin
Em
scratch off your name

let me in

It’s winter time
A E
goose pimples gone hard
Cold breathe of Kelvin that I know so well
my car is frosted like a cake
10 fricken minutes till the cockpit’s warm
time for a cold-foot dancing break
B
It’s winter time
A E
goose pimples gone hard

It’s Winter time
A
Almost Spring Time

I know it never goes away
So count your years on your fingers
and I’ll count my dreams by every year
the years my plot and plunder
but wonder never yields

I’m shivering for two reasons:
one, i’m cold
two, i’m excited
Here’s some reasons for those reasons:
one, it’s winter,
and two, I’m going to graduate
now, graduating means moving, basically
not just, like left and right, y’know, but in a direction.
and specifically for graduating, that direction is forward, or up, depending on what metaphor you like.
I like forward because it’s easier to look forward than up.
So where does moving forward get you?
Well, one step in the direction your facing.
And that one step is special because it’s the next step, the step that separates the future you from hte present you. Our metaphor is time-travel now, apparently.
So, I’m graduating, moving forward, the next step.
There’s a lot of fear here, a lot of confusion
and a couple of questions
one, What do I do next? is it quote-unquote ‘real job’ time now? How do I do that? also, what is a real job? and what happens if I can’t get one? what if I wanna go learn some more stuff in that grad school thing, how do I do that? what if I can’t do that? what if I don’t make it?
whoa, hey, take it easy, have a bagel
All these questions can be pretty damn scary if you don’t kno how to answer ‘em, but all you gotta do, really, is answer this question:
what’s the next step?
eat breakfast, take a shower, have your coffee.
Focus on the little steps, cuz those big steps, those big freaky step, all they really are a just a series of little steps.
